Nature Calls is a series of nature-based activities for children aged roughly 8-14. The idea behind it is to encourage children to go outdoors and explore the natural world. Rather than providing lots of information, Nature Calls focusses on direct immersion and observation of nature.
Nature Calls is published every month in Brainwave, a children’s science magazine. These webpages allow anyone to take part in the activities described, regardless of whether you are subscribed to Brainwave or not.
We will put up each activity as it becomes available, and provide links to more information and activities about the theme. Do feel free to ask questions or tell us what you have observed in the comments under each activity. You may also write to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Nature Calls is a collaboration between the Nature Conservation Foundation, Brainwave magazine, with support from Wipro Applying Thought in Schools.
The Nature Conservation Foundation (NCF) is a non-profit organization focussing on research and conservation of the natural world. Its Education and Public Engagement wing runs several projects that may be of interest to you.
Brainwave is a children’s science magazine published by Amar Chitra Katha. While covering the broad area of science under its umbrella, it often features nature and environment related issues.
